Delvestead Cloud Saves: One Hero on Every Device

Delvestead · · 2 min read

Delvestead saves on your device, and it always will: you can play without an account. A free account adds cloud saves, so the same characters open in the browser, on your Mac or PC, and later on your phone.

How do I sign in from the game?

You never type a password into the game. Instead:

  1. On the title screen, choose Sign in.
  2. The game shows a short code (like K7QM-3XRD) and opens delvestead.com.
  3. Sign in on the site with your email and password, or with Google. New here? Create the account on the same page.
  4. Check the code matches and confirm. A few seconds later the game is signed in.

The code lasts ten minutes and works once. Your password only ever goes to the website, never through the game.

What gets synced?

Each character’s save: the hero’s name, progress, stash, gear and farm, as the game writes it. The game uploads a character when it saves and checks the cloud when you open the title screen.

Stored Not stored
Your email (encrypted) Anything while you play signed out
Each character’s save file Payment details (nothing is sold today)
Device names and when they were last used Your password in plain text (only a hash)

What if two devices changed the same hero?

Every upload carries the version it started from. If another device saved that character in the meantime, the game doesn’t overwrite it silently: it asks which copy to keep, the one on this device or the one in the cloud.

Can I sign a device out?

Yes. Your account page lists every linked device with when it was last used. Sign one out and it stops syncing on its next request; its local saves stay where they are. Deleting the account removes the cloud copies and keeps the local ones.

Where can I play?

In the browser, and as a download for Mac and Windows. iPhone and Android are next, with the same account. New to the game? Start with the beginner guide.

Send your hero down.
